Removable aluminum top crossmember modification for a local tree surgeon. His new tipper had a fixed crossmember that obstructed chute access. Cut it out, cleaned up, welded 5mm tabs and added 316 stainless antiluce pins.
Easy on and off whenever required, stainless fasteners to prevent galvanic corrosion.
Maintenance on this shear grab. Every tine was loose and the lock nuts were seized from the acidity of the silage. Heated up with the acetylene, doused in penetrating oil and they’re all moving freely. Resharpened the cutting edges all around and painted ready for the year ahead.
These were taken during my time in motorsport fabrication – a change of pace from structural and nuclear work. An excellent position, but something was missing.
I now have real satisfaction in what I do. Helping people directly, keeping farms running, solving problems face-to-face.
TIG all the way out crack repair on this Valtra loader arm. As there were hydraulic lines nearby, to save disconnecting they were covered by an aluminium heat shield.
As the machine was used for some time with this crack, it transferred stress to the other arm and caused an additional crack. Both sides fully repaired and reinforced with steel plating.
Customer needed internal gates on their recently built sheep/alpaca barn. Only issue, no way of mounting the hinges to clear the roller shutter channels.
Fabricated these stand-off brackets to bring the hinge ~150mm out and back inline with the channel. Heavy wall 50mm box section and 45x80mm angle.
8 in total. Measured, fabricated, installed and coated within 6 hours.
